The single sided self-adhesive sealing tape is made of polyvinyl chloride foam with mostly closed cells. Due to its particular characteristics, it is universally applicable for durable sealings indoor and outdoor.
Characteristics
-
good thermal insulation efficiency, sound and vibration absorption
- closed surface skin, resistance to abrasion, good mechanical stability
-
watertight at a compression of 30 %
-
normally flammable, non-combustible
Main fields of applications of VITOSEAL sealing tapes comprise the building industry, air-conditioning and ventilation equipment, automotive chassis construction and apparatus engineering. VITOSEAL interrupts cold transmission and serves as an efficient insulation against thermal influence. Vinyl (PVC) sealing tapes may not be utilized in connection with acrylic glass (PMMA, tradenames Plexiglas, Vitroflex, Limacryl, R-Cast, Per-Clax, Perspex, Plazcryl, Acrylex, Acrylite, Acrylplast, Altuglas, Polycast, Oroglass, Lucite or th e like) because migration of plasticizers may cause stress cracks in PMMA materials in process of time. In case of direct contact to PMMA it is advisable to choose other foams rather than PVC.
